Professor Kaimin Shih

Professor Kaimin Shih is the Master of the College Two of HKU Jockey Club Student Village IV. He is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and an Associate Dean (Teaching & Learning) in the Faculty of Engineering. Professor Shih teaches various environmental engineering and sustainability courses at the department and university levels. He received the university’s Outstanding Teaching Award (Individual) in 2013.

 

In research, Professor Shih established the HKU Environmental Materials Research Group and has incubated many doctoral students and research scientists for the environment, resource, and energy research communities. Before his service at HKU, Professor Shih received his MS, Ph.D., and postdoctoral training in environmental engineering at Stanford University.

 

Professor Shih’s job at College Two is to engineer a comfortable and educational environment for every resident to sail through a satisfactory study journey at HKU! He lives with his family (Chiharu and their children, Hans and Amelie) in the college.​
