Vision

Building a flourishing residential college for sustainability...

Humanity and our planet Earth are at a crossroads. The university environment is where future generations of thinkers, leaders, and pioneers are trained to collaboratively meet the global challenges towards a sustainable future.

College Two in Jockey Club Student Village IV is designated as the largest residential postgraduate institution within the University of Hong Kong (HKU). Its establishment highlights the university’s commitment to incubate research and professional leaders through residential education. The college is dedicated to the United Nations’s Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), integrating sustainable development, social responsibility, and global citizenship as our core principles and shared values. It aims to build a stimulating, caring, inclusive, and participatory academic community where students from diverse academic, social, and cultural backgrounds could become well-informed, equipped, and connected to lead vibrant individual and communal lives and innovative professional careers, towards the fulfillment of the UNSDGs. We achieve these by fostering academic excellence, critical thinking and problem solving, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a creative and entrepreneurial mindset. The emphasis on academic and professional development is coupled with our efforts to promote individual wellbeing, community flourishing, effective communication, ethical leadership and governance, and sustainable lifestyles.

By integrating academic and professional development with the cultural and social ethos and practices, we aim to engage our students in developing College Two into a holistic sustainability living lab. We endeavour to mobilise the world-leading education resources at HKU and relevant resources and opportunities in the wider society, even globally, for these purposes.

The college warmly welcomes students from all disciplines who are driven by curiosity, excellence, passion, and a desire to make a positive impact on society to apply to join us.
